Shift Levels (Time Management)
Shift Levels can be created for each individual day (by selecting the Tab for the day to be programmed) or if all days have the same Shift Levels then select "All Week" and enter your Shift start and stop times there. Once entered, they will be applied to all days. You can, however, change an individual day after you are done if necessary. There is also an option to designate separate shift parameters for Holidays.
Shift levels must total 24 hours. As you can see below, Shift 1 begins at 8:00 AM and shift 3 ends at 8:00 AM.
Begin Grace and End Grace (in Minutes) create windows beyond the shift start and stop times that an employee can punch in or out without affecting shift differentials. In the example below, Shift 1 is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Begin Grace is 30 minutes and the End Grace is 45 minutes. As a result, an employee can punch In as early as 7:30 and it will still be considered Shift 1 regardless of which Pay Method you selected on the previous screen. At the end of the day the employee can pinch Out as late as 45 minutes and still be considered Shift 1. If the employee punches In earlier than 7:30 AM they will be considered for Shift Differential pay (depending on the Pay Method selected) for Shift 3 from the time they punch In until the 8:00 AM Shift 1 start time. If the employee punches Out later than 4:45 PM they will be considered for Shift Differential pay (depending on the Pay Method selected) for Shift 2 from 4:00 PM until the time they punch Out.
A day can be divided into a maximum of 15 shifts. The only overlapping allowed is by way of Begin and End Grace.
