Points (Company)

Time Advantage can generate Points based on Exceptions and Explanation Codes and in some cases based on Time. For instance, a point, points, or fraction of a point can be generated for an Absence. A different number of points can be generated for an Absence with an Explanation Code attached, such as UE (Unexcused). For a Late In, points can not only be generated differently for a Late In, Late In with Explanation Code, but also based on the number on minutes late. In the example below, a Late In of at least 3 minutes with an Explanation Code of NE (No Excuse) generates .5 point. A Late In of at least 30 minutes with an Explanation Code of NE (No Excuse) generates 1 point. Since all of the examples below are setup with attached  Explanation Code then Points will not be generated if the Explanation Code is either deleted or changed to one not listed under Points while editing the Time Card.

To setup Points:

  • Select the Exception from the drop-down box marked "Exception".
  • If you want to include an Explanation Code then select that from the drop down box marked "Explanation".
  • If time is involved such as with Lates and Earlys enter the minimum number of minutes required to get the point in the box marked "Minutes".
  • Enter the number of points to be accrued in the box marked "Points".
  • Click save to List.

A point rule can be deleted by checking the box to the right of the rule then clicking Delete.

Points may be automatically deleted under certain conditions. The choices are:

  • Occurrence more than # of days old. With this option any occurrence over a certain number of days old will automatically be deleted regardless of the number of points the occurrence was for.
  • Occurrence after # days with no new occurrences. In the example below, the oldest occurrence, regardless of the number of points the occurrence was for will be automatically be deleted if an employee goes at least 90 days without an occurrence.
  • # points after # days with no new occurrences. This is similar to the above but instead of deleting an occurrence after a certain number of days with no new occurrences, a specific number of points can be defined to be deleted after # days without an occurrence.
